About Bounce Back from Cancer™

What is Bounce Back from Cancer?
Bounce Back from Cancer is a family-friendly community fundraising event presented in partnership with the Baptist Health Foundation and the Miami HEAT. Participants, teams and supporters dribble or walk one of three courses, 14.2 mile course starting at Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute, the 6 mile course starting at Regatta Park, or the 2 mile course starting at The Underline - Brickell's Backyard. All courses come together for a Finish Line Celebration at Kaseya Center. Through fundraising efforts, participants help support groundbreaking cancer research and clinical trials at Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute.

When is the event?
Bounce Back from Cancer will take place on Saturday, March 13, 2027.

​Who does this event benefit?
Proceeds are donated to Baptist Health Foundation to benefit Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute. Funds raised help support groundbreaking cancer research and clinical trials, bringing innovative treatment options to patients right here in South Florida.

​Do I need basketball experience to participate?
Not at all! Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. Unlike a race, Bounce Back from Cancer is a community walk designed for participants of all fitness levels. Whether you choose the 14.2 miles, 6 miles or 2 mile course, the goal is to come together in support of cancer patients and their families.


REGISTRATION & PARTICIPATION

How do I participate?
Register as an individual, join an existing team or create your own team. Once registered, you'll receive access to your personal fundraising page and participant dashboard.

What does it cost to participate?
All courses have a $65 registration fee.
•    14.2 Mile Full Court Challenge: $500 fundraising minimum requirement
•    6 Mile Half Court: $300 fundraising minimum requirement
•    2 Mile Final Stretch: $150 fundraising minimum requirement
•    Students (10-17): Fundraising minimum waived for 2 mile course only, fundraising encouraged

Why is fundraising required?
Bounce Back from Cancer is a fundraising event that supports groundbreaking cancer research and clinical trials at the Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute. Every dollar raised helps advance the fight against cancer.

What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising minimum?
Participants have until March 31, 2027 to meet their fundraising goal. If the minimum isn’t reached, the remaining balance will be charged to the credit card used at registration.

When does registration close?
Registration will officially close on Wednesday, March 10, 2027.

How do I create a fundraising page?
Your fundraising page is automatically created when you register.

How do I create a team?
During registration, select the option to create a team and follow the prompts to set up your team page. You can then invite friends, family and colleagues to join you.

Can I join a team after I register?
Yes. If you would like to join a team after completing your registration, log in to your participant dashboard or contact Events@BaptistHealth.net for assistance.

Can I fundraise as part of a team?
Yes. Donations made to your personal fundraising page count toward both your individual total and your team's fundraising efforts.

My employer is covering our team’s entry fees. How do we set up payment?

My company would like to sponsor. What opportunities are available?
Sponsorships are critical to our success, with options for nearly every company and budget. Contact Events@BaptistHealth.net to learn more.

Is there a minimum age to participate?
Participants must be at least 10 years old to register and participate in the event courses. Participating adults may bring non-participating children under age 10. Minors (ages 10-17) have no fundraising minimum when registered for the 2 Mile Final Stretch course.

Can I transfer my registration or cancel if I can’t attend?
Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable. Contact Events@BaptistHealth.net for assistance.

What happens if it rains or there is severe weather?
Bounce Back from Cancer is a rain-or-shine event. In the case of severe weather, updates will be communicated via email and the event website.

Can I walk instead of dribbling a basketball?
Yes! Participants may dribble a basketball, walk or do a combination of both throughout their course. Bounce Back from Cancer welcomes everyone who wants to support the cause.

Do I need to bring my own basketball?
No. Registered participants will receive an official Bounce Back from Cancer basketball as part of their participant experience along with an event t-shirt and additional event materials as part of their participant packet.

FUNDRAISING & DONATIONS

Is my entry fee tax deductible?
No. The registration fee includes goods and services valued at $50 per registrant.

Can I donate without participating?
Yes! Click the DONATE TODAY button on our website.

Can I make a donation by check?
Yes. Make checks payable to: Baptist Health South Florida Foundation, Inc.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Donations beyond the registration fee are tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor for guidance.

Does Bounce Back accept matching gifts from my employer?
Yes! Many companies will match employee donations. Check with your HR department for instructions.

Can I fundraise after the event?
Yes, fundraising will remain open until March 31, 2027. For all participants, if the fundraising minimum isn’t reached, the remaining balance will be charged to the credit card used at registration.

Will my information be shared?
Donor information is never sold to third parties. It may be used by Don’t Stop Productions, LLC, Bounce Back from Cancer, Baptist Health Foundation, or Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute for communication purposes.

EVENT LOGISTICS

Where and when can I pick up my packet?
Packet pickup is available:
•    March 8, 2027 | 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m. – Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute, 8900 N Kendall Drive, Miami, FL 33176
•    March 9, 2027 | 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m. – Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute
•    March 10, 2027 | 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m. – Baptist Health Primary Care, 1228 South Pine Island Road, Suite 320, Plantation, FL 33324

All packets must be picked up by March 10 at 6:30 p.m. 

Can someone pick up my packet for me?
Yes, someone else can pick up your packet for you. They will need to bring a copy of your driver’s license. A photo of it on their phone is perfectly fine. This is required so they can confirm you’re aware your packet is being picked up on your behalf and ensure it’s released to the correct person.

Where do I park on event day?
Parking details for each course will be provided closer to the event.

Can my family meet me at the Kaseya Center?
Yes! Guests are welcome to join you at the Finish Line Celebration at Kaseya Center. Guest tickets are $10 each and may be purchased during registration or onsite at the Solutions Tent on event day. Quantities are limited and available while supplies last.

Can I bring my dog?
No. Animals are not allowed on courses or at Kaseya Center, except for trained service animals.

Are strollers allowed?
Yes. Strollers are welcome on all courses. Children riding in strollers do not need to register or fundraise to participate alongside a parent or guardian.

COURSE SUPPORT

Will there be water, food and medical support along the way?
Water, snacks and emergency medical personnel will be available along the route.

How do I get back to my starting location?
Details on shuttles or transport to/from start lines will be provided closer to the event.

Does the event provide accommodations for the disabled?
Staff will assist with wheelchair access, and other accommodations (ASL interpreters, sensory support) are available upon request.

What if I have a question during the event?
Visit the Solutions Tent at your start line or the finish line.
