24 Hours in the Canyon

BEING A TEAM CAPTAIN

Team Captains play a vital role in 24 Hours in the Canyon and are the team leaders that get their family, friends and co-workers organized. Your support shows the community that it starts with you to help cancer survivors. While this event is about bikes, it's also about raising money to help cancer survivors.
Thank you for the time and energy you are putting into raising money and awareness for 24 Hours in the Canyon and the Cancer Survivorship Center.


Step 1: Register Yourself as the Team Captain.

Step 3: Start Fundraising!

Step 4: Encourage your Team to Fundraise!


Here are some Helpful Tips to Encourage your Team

COMMUNICATE WITH THE TEAM REGULARLY

Touch base via email, phone or text (even hold a team meeting)

Brainstorm fundraising ideas

Inspire the team with stories/facts about the Cancer Survivorship Center

Keep the team informed of their progress - highlight a certain member’s
fundraising efforts (they received a big donation or reached their goal)

BUILD AN AWESOME AND DYNAMIC TEAM

Look to your family, friends and co-workers to be on your team

Be sure to stress that 24 Hours in the Canyon as an opportunity to make a
difference in the lives of those diagnosed with cancer

Seek people with different connections to widen the circle of possible donors

MOTIVATE AND ENCOURAGE TEAM MEMBERS

Challenge the team

Foster a competitive spirit

Thank members throughout the process

MAKE SURE THEY ARE APPRECIATED AND RECOGNIZED

Consider ways you might recognize each team member for their contributions

Help the team share in the glory of any formal awards received at the event

Remember to recognize your own contributions and keep in mind that each dollar
raised is impacting someone diagnosed with cancer
