2025 Front Range Regional Cycling - Volunteer Registration supporting Special Olympics Colorado

Join Us as a Volunteer for the Annual Special Olympics Colorado Denver Regional Cycling Competition!
Help bring the excitement and energy to life as athletes race their way to the finish line! Volunteers are essential in making this high-energy event safe, inclusive, and unforgettable. Whether you’re monitoring the course or cheering on athletes, your support makes all the difference.
VOLUNTEER ROLES INCLUDE:
Assisting with equipment setup and course preparation
Serving as a Course Monitor to guide athletes and ensure safety (training provided)
Helping at the Start/Finish Line with staging, timing support, and post-race transitions
Supporting athletes with hydration, encouragement, and smooth transitions
Assisting with check-in, awards, and general logistics
Helping with tear-down and clean-up at the end of the day
EVENT DETAILS:
📅 Date: Saturday, August 2, 2025
📍 Location: Arapahoe County Fairgrounds – 25690 E Quincy Ave, Aurora, CO 80016
🚗 Parking: Free general parking available on-site
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:
Comfortable clothes (volunteer t-shirt provided)
Closed-toe shoes (required)
Water bottle to stay hydrated
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and other sun protection
VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS:
Need verification for school, work, or service requirements? Email Denise Hulstrom after the event at dhulstrom@specialolympicsco.org for a confirmation letter.
VOLUNTEER AGE GUIDELINES:
Ages 16+ may volunteer independently
Ages 8–15 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone
Ages 7 and under may attend as cheerleaders with adult supervision (no volunteer duties assigned; no ticket required)
Group Supervision: A 3:1 child-to-adult ratio is required for youth groups (e.g., schools, scouts)
