About 2025 Western Regional Swimming & Powerlifting - Volunteer Registration

2025 Western Regional Swimming and Powerlifting

Join us for our 2025 Western Regional Swimming and Powerlifting Tournament, hosted by Special Olympics Colorado. This annual event brings together athletes with intellectual disabilities to compete in swimming and powerlifting. The tournament highlights athletes’ strength, determination, and sportsmanship, with events designed to celebrate their achievements. Volunteers are essential in making this event successful by assisting with athlete check-in, guiding activities, and helping ensure a smooth, safe, and uplifting experience for all.

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN

Please check in promptly at the designated Volunteer Registration table upon arrival. Registration locations will be provided in advance of the event.

Please arrive on time, as we’re working on a tight schedule. During check-in, volunteers will receive their assignments and further instructions.

ORIENTATION & TRAINING

Your check-in time is also the start time of your volunteer shift. Training and orientation will occur before competition begins.

ROLE FLEXIBILITY

We ask all volunteers to remain flexible in their assigned roles, as they are based on immediate needs.

ATTIRE

Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and non-slip athletic shoes, as the event involves movement and may take place both indoors and outdoors. Volunteers should wear Special Olympics Colorado volunteer t-shirts if provided or other attire appropriate for a sports environment.

MEALS

Volunteers will be provided with snacks throughout the duration of the event.

    DIRECTIONS & PARKING

    • Parking: Free parking is available at the venue

    VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS

If you need confirmation of service hours, please report back to the volunteer registration desk after your shift for signatures or forms.

    AGE ELIGIBILITY

    • 16 years and older: May volunteer independently.
    • Ages 8-15: Must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone.
    • 7 years and younger: Cannot receive volunteer assignments but are welcome to cheer on athletes if accompanied by an adult.

For groups (e.g., scout troops, school classes), an adult-to-child ratio of 1:3 is required.
