2026 Western State Summer Classic - Bocce and Golf

Join Us as a Volunteer for the Annual Special Olympics Colorado Western State Summer Classic!

Make a meaningful impact while supporting incredible athletes as they compete in Bocce and Golf at this signature Western Slope event. Volunteers are welcome to register for one or both sports based on availability—every hour of your time helps create an empowering and inclusive competition experience!

VOLUNTEER ROLES INCLUDE:

• Assisting with equipment setup and sport venue preparation

• Serving as a Bocce official or Golf scorer (training provided—no prior experience required!)

• Supporting athletes and helping maintain competition flow

• Assisting with awards, check-in, and general logistics

• Helping with tear-down and clean-up at the end of the event

EVENT DETAILS:

📅 Date: Sunday, July 25, 2026

📍 Location: Lincoln Park, Grand Junction, CO

🚗 Parking: Free general parking available on-site

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

• Comfortable clothes (volunteer t-shirt provided)

• Closed-toe shoes (required)

• Water bottle to stay hydrated

• Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and other sun protection

VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS:

VOLUNTEER AGE GUIDELINES:

• Ages 16+ may volunteer independently

• Ages 8–15 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone

• Ages 7 and under may attend as cheerleaders with adult supervision (no volunteer duties assigned; no ticket required)

• Group Supervision: A 3:1 child-to-adult ratio is required for youth groups (e.g., schools, scouts)
