Marklund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.
With three residential locations–the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin– We are currently home to 174 residents.
The Marklund Day School, with locations in Bloomingdale and Elgin, and Geneva - is a State Board of Education Licensed Therapeutic Day School that partners with area school districts to serve children with multiple medical needs, learning, emotional and developmental disabilities, and those diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum - currently serving 78 students throughout each location.
At Marklund, many of our residents and community clients are non-ambulatory and have severe cognitive deficits due to genetic disorders, complications during pregnancy and delivery, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, to name a few. Others acquired disabilities during infancy or childhood through tragic accidents. Many have complex medical problems that require 24-hour skilled nursing care and regular therapy interventions.
At Marklund, we focus on every person’s unique abilities, offering our residents and community clients safe, happy lives filled with goals, achievements and purpose.
The “Marklund Standard of Care" is not covered by the State of IL, leaving us a service gap of approximately $13,200 per individual, per year. We need your help to close this funding gap!
100% of net proceeds from this event will be applied toward this gap in funding, to support Marklund’s residential programs and services.
