Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., claiming 127,000 American lives each year - that's 348 people each day. It's by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women, making up almost 25% of all cancer deaths. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of breast, prostate, and colon cancers combined! Currently, only 26.6% of those diagnosed will live five-years past their diagnosis.
A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation works to end lung cancer by funding innovative U.S. research, educating the public for earlier detection, and supporting patients and families living with lung cancer. We have grown steadily since the first run/walk in 2007 and have invested more than $3 Million in lung cancer research.
We are 100% philanthropy supported.
