BBBSMV - MY WAY! supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi Valley
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi Valley

Why Participate?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley connects adult mentors to children in our community who are facing adversity.  Many times the children come from low income homes, and households with usually one "head of household", many times a woman.

Creating a BBBSMV fundraising page lets you create your own, personalized page, that you can use for special events or activities that you are participating in like your birthday, key anniversary dates, running races, marathons, half marathons, triathlons, bike-a-thons, etc. Once you create your page, you can use the link to fundraising using your social media posts or use with emails.  Dollars you raise go directly to BBBSMV and thank you emails are generated from the on-line platform we use.  You are also able to see who has given to your cause.

It's easy and it works! Try it!

About the Cause

From local research that is conducted each year in our community, we know that children who are enrolled as Littles in the BBBS program have improved in these key areas in the past year:

- Self esteem - 68% improved.

- Motivation -  53% improved.

- Decision-making abilities - 51% improved.

- Self-confidence - 64% improved.

- 89% improved or maintained in their overall academic performance.

YOUTH MENTORING WORKS!  Help ignite potential in QC area kids!

HELP IGNITE POTENTIAL IN QUAD CITY AREA YOUTH!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley serves about 600 youth each year.  Dollars that are raised on behalf of BBBSMV go toward the recruitment, enrollment, training, ongoing coaching and providing activities during the year that help strengthen the match (a Big and Little).  Children, ages 5-18, who are enrolled in the program are matched with an adult friend and over time, this person (in addition to the child's family) help to build self-confidence, self-esteem, good decision-making skills, self-motivation, improved academic performance and overall, helps prepare them for a brighter future.

The people who have pages on this fundraising website know how important youth mentoring is to strengthening not only a child, but a whole community! Please support them in the challenge they are taking on in order to help them raised needed dollars for this great cause.

You too can raise money for BBBSMV by creating your fundraising page and connecting to your network of family, friends and co-workers to gain their support in your "My Way" fundraising campaign.
