Hi, my name is Alexa Corrales, and I am 13 years old. I was diagnosed with Leukemia B-ALL, and because of my age, I am at high risk. The same day I was diagnosed, I started chemotherapy, which was very hard for me.

During the two months I was in the hospital, I started making hairbrushes for my nurses as a distraction. While I was there, I had two surgeries. It was the hardest two months, but making the brushes helped distract me and allowed me to endure it daily. A few nurses suggested I start a business making brushes since I am so good at them. So, I pursued it since it’s something I really enjoyed. It allows me to share something that brings me joy and makes me happy and stronger.
