Believe…

in big hugs.

Maria Gallegos de Campos

I am a resident of Kern County, where my husband and I have lived for many years. I was diagnosed with tonsil and skin cancer.

Despite my diagnosis, I enjoy simple activities like visiting the park, sewing, and reading books. I am passionate about growing succulents and planting various flowers and plants in my garden, which reduces my stress.

My family and I are grateful for the Kern County Cancer Foundation (KCCF) support. I and three of my sisters have battled cancer and have received financial assistance from KCCF. I lost one of my sisters a few years ago, and she also benefited from the help of the foundation.

If I could show my gratitude to the KCCF board, I would give them all a big hug and a heartfelt “Thank you.”
