I was diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma Diffuse Large B-cell brain cancer in 2022. The psychological effects of this encounter were countless. The thought of not being there for my family and possibly not having a job IF I survived weighed heavily on me.

With 30+ years of experience in the US workforce, bouncing between jobs, I did not anticipate any employer caring enough about me to hold my job while I was receiving my treatment. I was anxious about having to look for work IF I survived! Stater Bros. Markets stood by my side and reassured me that I would still have a job when I was well, and here I am, writing this story almost two years later, in remission, still employed!

The loyalty and care that Stater Bros. and the Kaiser teams showed me during this tumultuous time proved that I can have faith in a system that I perceived as irrelevant before this encounter and that there is kindness in humanity. This has truly transformed my view!
