My husband, Steven, and I, through Walter’s Automotive Group, have been proud sponsors of the Believe Walk for many years. I did all the right things: I had a mammogram in September 2023, performed a self-breast exam in September 2024, and found a lump in my left breast in October 2024. I was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, HER2-positive.
I started six rounds of chemotherapy on December 26th. This was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I am now undergoing another type of treatment for six months, along with 33 radiation treatments. Despite all this, I still feel like one of the lucky ones. I caught the cancer early, and I have my amazing husband Steven, our family, and wonderful friends all around me supporting me on this journey.
I believe I will beat this and be stronger because of it. My story is simple, but it is one filled with faith, love, and hope.
