Believe…

in Being Forever Grateful

Lara Emilia

I was diagnosed with left breast infiltrating ductal carcinoma ER+, PR/HER2- on July 3, 2024. In April, my mammogram was clear. But in June, I found a lump. I received the terrible news after the tests and the biopsy results. I wanted a double mastectomy, but given the options, I chose a lumpectomy with reconstruction. A second surgery was performed after the margins were not clear.

After six tough rounds of chemo and radiation, I was bedridden, sick, in pain, depressed, exhausted, and isolated. I was devastated after losing my hair, but when I found the Pink Ribbon and Veronica, I gained hope. Veronica welcomed me with hugs, a wig, bras, caps, and earrings. She told me about Radical Remission with Dr. Gomez. It changed me. She provided tools to cope and heal. Our group bonded deeply—we’re the Pink Sassy Ladies (PSL), my forever family.

Today, I’m managing depression, lymphedema, and upcoming hormone blockers. Recovery is still ongoing. But I have faith and strength. Pink Ribbon saved me. I will forever be grateful. God bless this organization.
