Veronica Miranda

Diagnosed in 2019 with Stage II BRCA I-positive breast cancer, then in 2023 with TNBC that spread to lymph nodes. I was devastated and unsure how to cope a second time.

As a hairstylist for over 25 years, I knew I couldn’t continue working, despite loving my job. My first diagnosis left me physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially drained, with countless doctor visits, chemo, surgeries, transfusions, scans, medications, radiation, and therapy. I knew I was facing a difficult battle.

I’m usually the strongest one, helping others, but this time I needed help, and the Desert Cancer Foundation understood the hardships of this disease. I’m grateful to my husband, family, friends, clients, DCF, medical staff, caregivers, and my faith in God. Without them, I wouldn’t have made it through these tough times.

I share my journey because it’s important for others who are diagnosed to know that you’re not alone. There are organizations like Desert Cancer Foundation that truly care and are willing to help. My diagnosis has turned into hope and a fight to get well.
