About 12th Annual Big Fix

Housing Assistance is excited to announce that the Big Fix, our longest running community service event is returning this October. As with so much over the last year and a half, this year’s event will be different by being on a smaller scale in an effort to control the number of volunteers on-site while keeping everyone safe. As a result, we have limited projects and our in-person volunteer opportunities are currently full. You can still help as a Big Fix Neighbor, by donating or by becoming a Big Fix Sponsor.

THE CAUSE

In addition to rolling up our sleeves and helping our neighbors with home clean up and improvement projects, funds raised through this year's Big Fix will connect our neighbors to safe, stable housing that serves as the link to healthy families, healthy neighborhoods, and healthy communities. 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE 

1. GET REGISTERED

Register now for the Big Fix and create your profile. Make sure to include a photo and share a story to let people know how and why you're giving back as a Big Fix Neighbor.


Please note that fundraising is optional and NOT required to be a Big Fix Neighbor. Fundraising is one way to enhance your Big Fix experience and ensure our neighbors receive access to the safe, stable housing they need year round. 

2. START PLANNING YOUR PROJECT & FUNDRAISING

Because the Big Fix Neighbor project is taking place virtually, you can start planning now through the official Big Fix event on October 2nd.  You can coordinate and execute your Big Fix Neighbor project any time it's convenient for you and your neighbor!

3. GET SOCIAL

Get your Big Fix Neighbor service project done on or before October 2, take a photo, and post the photo on social media. Make sure to tag us — @haconcapecod on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And use #BigFix2021. Once we see your post, we’ll share it with our many supporters and inspire others to help support their community.

Post pictures + #BigFix2021 on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and they'll be featured in our Photo Gallery!

Join us for the Big Fix!

HELP US HELP OUR NEIGHBORS. 

The Big Fix is an annual event that supports the impactful work of Housing Assistance in three ways:
  1. Raising much needed funds to enrich and enhance our existing services
  2. Providing invaluable assistance to low-income residents, with clean-up, landscaping, and small home repair projects
  3. Offering a meaningful and hands-on experience for those who choose to be a Big Fix Neighbor by participating in or organizing a project (clean up, raking, weeding, painting, etc.) for someone who could use a hand.

Over the past year and a half, more people are struggling. They have lost jobs, income, and are facing profound challenges caused by the pandemic. 

You can make a difference by getting involved in year's Big Fix. Together, we have the opportunity to connect our neighbors to the hope, housing and community support they need.
