What is the Big Fix?

Housing Assistance is excited to announce that the Big Fix, our longest running community service event is returning this October. As with so much over the last year and a half, this year’s event will be different by being on a smaller scale in an effort to control the number of volunteers on-site while keeping everyone safe. As a result, we have limited projects and our in-person volunteer opportunities are currently full. 

You can still help as a Big Fix Neighbor, by donating or by becoming a Big Fix Sponsor!

What's involved in being a Big Fix Neighbor?

Help us use the excitement, energy, and enthusiasm this annual event generates by participating in our Big Fix to help year-rounders stay housed and safe. Now more than ever, HOUSING is the foundation to keep our community safe and healthy!

In the spirit of the annual Big Fix event, put the neighbor in neighborly and offer to help your neighbors in need by becoming a Big Fix Neighbor! For example — offer to rake your neighbor’s yard, clean their gutters, mow their lawn, weed their garden, etc. If you prefer, you can organize a community-oriented project, like a beach or street cleanup. You can organize your project on October 2nd or in the days and weeks leading up to the Big Fix. 

Participants can pick-up their Big Fix T-shirt at our main office at 460 West Main Street in Hyannis or it can be mailed upon request.

How do I become a Big Fix Sponsor?

We appreciate your interest! By sponsoring this year's Big Fix, you will be giving hope to our most vulnerable neighbors needing access to our housing services during these uncertain times.
