Keep Our Girls Connected Campaign supporting Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, Inc.

With the compounded challenges of social isolation and racial violence, the girls that Big Sister serves need our support more than ever.
During this time of social isolation, the Little Sisters need us more than ever. By making a gift you are directly supporting the emotional well-being of the Little Sisters Big Sister serves. Won't you join me and support Big Sister's important mission, ensuring that girls come out of this pandemic feeling safe, valued and more resilient than before.
I have set a goal for $2,500 because this is the cost for Big Sister to make and support a Big/Little sister match for a year.
I am raising funds for Big Sister Boston as this organization has demonstrated to me the positive impact it has on the lives of young girls and women in Boston. Just three days ago I am officially no longer a Big Sister as my Little turned 20, but I know that she will always be my Little and I will always be her Big. By being a Big Sister for almost six years, I saw first-hand how this organization improves the lives of young girls in Boston by providing them with access to individual nurturing, guidance, and support.
I'm sorry that we can't gather in person during Big Sister events, but in order to stay connected during the pandemic I am organizing two events and hope that you can join me:
- Virtual Walk - August 7th - I am walking 25,000 steps on Friday August 7th to help raise funds for Big Sister. Want to join me?
- Virtual Rodman Bike Ride - September 26th - This is my third year participating in the Rodman Ride to raise funds for Big Sister. This year the ride is virtual, but I am not letting deter me from riding! I am riding 25 miles in my neighborhood this September 26th. Want to join me by riding on this day in your neighborhood?
The Little Sister Dyanna Award for Courage goes to Little Sister Marta nominated by her Big Sister Yisel Katsnelson. Yisel nominated Marta for having the courage to step outside her comfort zone this past year by joining the newspaper club at school. Yisel is confident that her experience at the newspaper club will come in handy when Marta pursues her journalism and engineering double major, which is her college goal. Both Marta and Yisel feel they are introverts, but this shows that you do not have to be an extrovert to be courageous. Marta has also maintained excellent academic performance, even as she has become more involved in extracurricular activities.
