The BIG SORT Spring 2019 is scheduled for April 13, 2019 and you don't want to miss out on the best event of the spring!
Help ensure that individuals and families struggling with hunger have the food they need to celebrate the Easter Holiday this year by participating in the BIG SORT Spring 2019!
The Big Sort is a fun and competitive food sorting event whose purpose is to raise funds and fresh food to support people struggling with hunger. You can help ensure the more than 12,000 people supported each week by the work of Food for Life have access to safe, nutritious food.
Every dollar raised provides the equivalent of 4 meals to an individual in need.
Your team of 10 will take large bulk items of fresh food and pack into smaller boxes for sharing with the community. Whichever team can sort and pack the most boxes in a specific amount of time moves on to the next round until there is only one team left!
Boost your chance of winning by raising funds through online/offline donations and raising fresh food. The more you raise the better your chances of getting out of the first round!
Every $25 you raise or donate over your teams fundraising goal of $1000 equals a virtual box of packed fresh food added to your total for the first round! These virtual boxes could help your team move on to the second round!
See the event schedule below for more details.
Registration is free, but each team will have a $1,000 (that is just $100 per person) fundraising goal to help your team to make it to the next round in the competition.
Food for Life will work with each team/member to create an online fundraising page, provide social media content, and share fun, easy fundraising tips to help you reach your $100/$1,000 goal.
This event will not only help people in need but also includes snacks and a really amazing morning of fun.
Can't Make It But Want to Help. Support our Virtual Team or Sponsor Your Own Team and we will make sure your team name is mentioned at the event-great advertising!
Food for Life understands that it takes time to raise funds, create awareness for hunger in our community and to participant in the BIG Sort. So here is the challenge:
Every youth who registers (including raising $100) and participates in the event will receive 3 hours of volunteer/service learning credits.
For every $50 raised over the $100 minimum each team member will receive another 1 hour of volunteer/service learning credits.
