Volunteering at the Bike to Beat Cancer
An event such as the Bike to Beat Cancer cannot happen without a group of dedicated volunteers working to make it a success. Below are the different areas in which we need assistance from volunteers.

Start/Finish Volunteers
May assist on Sept. 8 to set up and help with pre-registration. Sept. 9 hours are available starting at 6 a.m. with roles until 8 p.m.
- Set up: Assist with the set up of event (tables, chairs, signage, etc.).
- Registration/Donations: Check participants in alphabetically, pass out jerseys, and collect donations from riders.
- Volunteer check-in: Check in volunteers and direct them to their assigned positions.
- Greeters: Greet riders and guests and direct them to parking, registration, meals, etc. Assist with smooth transition of participants.
- Loaders: Load materials needed for pit stops into the vehicles. Make sure all materials are secure and organized in each vehicle for pit stop.
- Finish Line Meal assistants: Assist riders and volunteers with getting their meal. Help pour drinks, clear tables and direct guests to buffet line.
- Breakdown: Breakdown and clean up the finish line celebration.
Route Volunteers
Tasks anywhere from 7 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9
- Sweep: Drive the route and assist riders as needed. Sweep volunteers are supplied with first aid kits for riders in need.
- Caboose: Follow the last group of riders throughout route and to finish line.
- Motor safety: Assist with the traffic flow of the riders. Motorcycles welcome.
- Medical staff: Two volunteers staffed at each pit stop and the finish line. Must be a medical professional.
Pit Stop Volunteers
Tasks available anywhere from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
- Pit stop volunteers: Provide food and drinks at designated stops. Direct riders to food, drink and medical equipment. Cheer on riders and encourage them along the route.
- Medical staff: Two volunteers staffed at each pit stop and the finish line. Must be a medical professional.
