Birdathon

When I started as an educator at Audubon Vermont 2 years ago, Birdathon was one of my first days here. I felt immedietly welcomed into the community and our mission as we walked around all of our trails looking and listening for birds.

One of my favorite programs to teach this year has been our Free Nature Play Group. Every Monday a group of young kids and their caregivers meet to explore our forests, ponds and fields. I am inspired by their curiosity and determination as they run down the trails and beg me to flip over "one more log" searching for salamanders. I have watched friendships blossum among children, adults, as they all strengthen their confidence and connection tithe nature.
