Last year, through the generosity of our community, we invited more than 350 downtown Indianapolis neighbors living in temporary housing and support based programs to a day of holiday cheer. This fun filled day includes books, gifts, filled stockings, a hot served meal to every person, a chance to experience the magic of our own Winter Wonderland and a visit with Santa Claus. By creating a chance for kids and their families to set aside their daily lives, the YMCA at the Athenaeum is fulfilling our mission to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
In order to reach so many neighbors in our downtown community, the YMCA at the Athenaeum relies on donations through the annual campaign to host this event that costs $40,000-$60,000. Additionally, to make this event possible, more than 200 volunteers gave their time, talents and treasures to create this holiday experience.
