About Project Stitch Wellness Gift

*  During these challenging times, family caregivers may find it harder than usual to provide care and comfort to their care recipients and to practice much-needed self-care.  This is why Hope Grows began Project Stitch Wellness Gifts.

*  Qualification for a free Wellness Gift is dependent upon answering some questions. You must be an in-home family/friend caregiver of a family member, loved one, friend, or neighbor on a daily basis in order to qualify for the free care package.   At this time we have 70 available wellness gifts.  When more funding and volunteers become available we would like to extend this offer to our professional caregivers who tirelessly are working during this crisis. And we applaud those health care workers for their hard work during this crisis.

*  Also, during crisis times, there are many people who want to help, but aren’t sure how.  Project Stitch fills both needs as it engages the care and talents of volunteers to create caregiver gifts that also serve as sources of soothing, comfort, and protection.  Sign up to pick up these kits and start sewing the neck wraps, hand warmers, and face masks for family caregivers and their care receiver.  To volunteer or receive more information, please email info@hopegrows.net or call 412-369-4673.

Covid-19 Statement:

Hope Grows adheres to high standards of safe distribution for both  volunteers and individuals receiving the Project Stitch Wellness Gift. Fabrics have been thoroughly cleaned before and after assembly. Our washing agents and practices are designed to kill viruses such as the common cold and flu. Based on current guidance, we have no reason to believe that our processes are ineffective against COVID-19. According to the CDC, flu viruses are killed by heat above 167°. About Hope Grows

Hope Grows is a non-profit organization providing an environment that allows the caregiver to receive counseling, support, and much-needed short breaks. We invite caregivers to experience a one of kind approach to wellness as a way to manage the physical, psychological, and spiritual stress associated with being a caregiver.

NATURE – Hope Grows incorporates nature therapy and the connection to the natural world as a key element of its many programs and services, not only because of its relaxing and restorative values, but also for its representation and illustration of life’s beauty, challenges, and cycles…all very relatable to caregiving. 

COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE - Hope Grows’ approach to caregiver support is comprehensive. Offering an individualized approach for family caregivers to seek support, as well as, a Therapeutic Respite™ model that features programs throughout the year for family caregivers to take a break. 

INNOVATION - Continually reaching for innovation in programming and outreach, Hope Grows dedicates itself to ongoing efforts to maintain the most up-to-date industry knowledge and resources that lead to improved service and better quality of life for caregivers.

OVERNIGHT RESPITE –  The overnight respite house model is well on its way to becoming a reality. The Iris Hope House has been approved to turn an existing home into a bed and breakfast with healing and restorative gardens.  The Hope Grows Iris Respite House will begin its capital campaign and renovations and in the near future caregivers will begin gaining an overnight break.

A movement to honor family caregivers by raising awareness, encouraging appreciation, and providing assistance – all through the movement’s symbolic, blue bearded iris image.
