Welcome to the Colon Cancer Challenge Fundraiser!

2023 marks the 20th year of our signature event - the Colon Cancer Challenge.

Across the United States, teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations will come together in March and throughout the year to raise awareness of colorectal cancer, support those battling the disease and raise funds for the Colon Cancer Foundation's strategic initiatives of Public Awareness, Prevention, Screening, and Research.

Did you know that cancer screening rates have dropped more than one third since the start of the coronavirus pandemic? The Colon Cancer Foundation is committed to turning this trend around by expanding the reach of our public awareness and education campaigns and working with institutions in underserved communities improve screening rates.

But we can’t achieve this critical goal without your help!

Event Information & Race/Walk Registration

SUNDAY, MARCH 26, 2023

Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York City

Certified, Timed 5K ~ 1M Remembrance & Prevention Walk ~ Virtual 5K

Choose the 1 Mile Walk, the 5K Run in Flushing Meadows Corona Park OR Run wherever you are! No matter what distance you cover, you will make up ground in the race to prevent colorectal cancer.

This year's Certified, Timed 5K Run and Remembrance & Prevention Walk will take place in the scenic Flushing Meadows Park! The course is a USATF certified loop starting at the north end of Meadow Lake, passing the iconic World's Fair Unisphere, Pool of Industry, Queens Zoo and Queens Museum of Art. 5K = 1 loop.

Survivors will be invited to celebrate their victory over colorectal cancer during a special Survivors Ceremony and Commemorative Photo. Survivors and Sponsors will have access to a V.I.P. Tent and refreshments. Participants will have access to the Health and Wellness Fair, including a Education tent, Promo/Donation tent and Sponsor and Exhibitor booths featuring giveaways.

5K Age Group Awards: 12 & under 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-70, 80+

A 1 mile scenic walk through one of the most iconic parks in New York. You will enjoy gorgeous natural areas, waterfront pathways and green, open fields;

5K Scenic, Certified and Chip-Timed Timed / $25.00 (Price Increases to $35 on 3/13 and $40 Race Day)

5K scenic, certified and chip-timed course loops in Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Age Group Awards: 12 & under 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-70, 80+

1 Mile Remembrance and Prevention Walk / $25.00 (Price Increases to $35 on 3/13 and $40 Race Day)

Walk participants will complete a 1 Mile loop.
If you plan on participating in both the walk and 5K please register for the 5K - you will be able to participate in both events.

How to Participate: Exercise anywhere you want. Then log your activity from March 15-21 on the Elite Feats website. Share your bib on social media to track your progress and raise awareness. (Bibs/T-Shirts/Medals begin shipping 10 days prior to the event)
