About POGO

The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) champions childhood cancer care. When a child is battling cancer, we ensure that the child has lifelong access to the best care for the best possible outcomes.

We provide that child’s family with financial support to help ease the burden. We commit to their ongoing care, knowing that childhood cancer survivors endure medical challenges into adulthood. We advance cancer care for all children with cancer through our pioneering database and research. POGO leads a unique and impactful pediatric cancer network that is a model for Canada and the world.

#ChampionKidsCancer is a program for people who want to join the fight against pediatric cancer. By hosting a community, school or workplace fundraising event, YOU can help POGO support kids with cancer and their families through diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

Great events come in all shapes and sizes. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • The Classics: Bake sales, garage sales, pie-in-the-face games, lemonade/coffee stands, car washes, head-shavings, and more
  • At Work: Set up a dress down day at work or offer to grab your team coffees on the way in...for a donation of course
  • Involve your Community: Collect empty bottles and cans to be returned to a bottle depot for reimbursement
  • Throw a Party: Organize a party and ask for donations in return--BBQs, pizza parties, cook-offs, Netflix nights, High Tea, game nights…this list goes on and on!
  • Get Creative: Are you an aspiring violinist? A sports car enthusiast? A crowd-pleasing magician? Use whatever your passion may be to better the lives of kids with cancer
