About Charlotte Over The Edge 2020

Go Over The Edge for our friends with Down syndrome!

When:  Monday, October 19th, 2020

Rappel times will be between 9 AM – 5 PM

Where: Hyatt House Charlotte/City Center, 435 East Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

What: A life-changing experience that allows YOU to make a positive impact in our community!

Join GiGi’s Playhouse Charlotte on October 19th 2020, where individuals will be given the opportunity to rappel 16 stories down the Hyatt House – Center City Building. Every day, children and adults with Down syndrome face many different obstacles. This rappel offers us the chance to conquer those fears and overcome obstacles together. The first 90+ thrill seekers, community advocates or every day hero to raise a minimum of $1000 will earn a spot to go Over The Edge.

We invite you to get involved, whether that’s by showing your courage and rappelling, volunteering for Event Day OR by making a donation to one of our brave Edgers.  All of it matters and makes a difference as we work together to help all children see the potential within them – Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible!

All proceeds will go towards providing a wide variety of FREE educational, therapeutic and social programs. With your support, more individuals will learn how to read, improve their health and wellness, develop career skills, and live truly beautiful lives. More communities will embrace individuals with Down syndrome as equals and friends. Miracles happen at GiGi's Playhouse, where we turn belief into achievement!

Why Participate?

GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center’s mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all.  We change lives through the consistent delivery of free, educational, therapeutic-based and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Through free programs and through our Generation G Campaign for global acceptance, we EMPOWER families by maximizing opportunities for daily achievement and lasting acceptance. To ensure lasting acceptance, we must show the world what individuals with Down syndrome are truly capable of achieving as students, co-workers, volunteers, friends, and valued members of their communities. Our program outcomes help advance this vital social impact goal.
