Urban Walkers: Architecture on Capitol Hill

About Urban Walkers: Architecture on Capitol Hill

Paul Cromwell will lead a walking tour of historic structures on the western end of Capitol Hill. The walk will begin on the lot next to the Citi Bank at 6th and Independence SE and cover about a mile and a half. It will last approximately 90 minutes and end reasonably close to the bank. Space is limited because of narrow sidewalks.

Existing residential and commercial structures on the western end of Capitol Hill close to the Capital building were constructed between 1795 and the present. This walking tour will present methods to estimate the age of the structures through period architectural styles, the installation of public and private infrastructure and the availability financial services.

This walk is limited to 25 participants. Rain date: October 2.
