WHAT IS 'CLEAR THE WAY FOR PCD'?
'Clear the Way for PCD' is an awareness and fundraising campaign for the PCD Foundation. The campaign takes place throughout the year and will ensure the PCD Foundation advances its mission of expanding programs and support initiatives focused on finding a cure for PCD.
WHAT CAN I DO?
Participating is easy!
You can donate.
You can create a fundraising page that you are able to customize and share with your family and friends. Simply register as an 'individual', which will allow you to create your personalized page.
You can create a team, where your network can join you in raising funds and awareness for PCD. As a team leader, you can host any type of event - it can be as simple as inviting folks to donate, sending a letter, hosting a virtual walk. The sky is the limit!
WILL I GET A CHARITABLE TAX RECEIPT FOR MY DONATION?
All donations made through our online fundraising page with all the required information (full name and complete address) will automatically receive a charitable tax receipt by email. If you have a question about your tax receipt, please contact us at lehrne@pcdfoundation.org.
CAN I COLLECT CASH OR CHECKS?
As a virtual challenge participant and fundraiser, you have the option of accepting cash and/or checks from your friends. To enter offline donations, go to 'manage my page'. On the left side click on 'Raise at least $100'. A box will open. Across the top, select 'enter cash/checks' and follow the prompts. Please be sure to send offline donations to the PCD Foundation at 61 Lake Meadow Dr., Rochester, NY 14612, as you receive them. Once the funds are received, we will confirm.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN WITHOUT HOSTING A FUNDRAISING PAGE OR EVENT?
You do not have to create a fundraising page or host an event to support ‘Clear the Way for PCD’. Philanthropic support plays a vital role in supporting our programs that drive research, and we are incredibly grateful for donations in support of our important mission.
You can make a gift by hovering over ‘Donate’ at the top of your screen until a drop-down menu appears, then clicking "Make a Donation." If you would like to donate towards a participant's or team's fundraising goal, simply click ‘Donate to a Participant/Team’ and then using the search feature to find their name. Once you have, click on the "Donate" button underneath their name and follow the prompts.
HOW DO I INVITE SOMEONE TO JOIN?
At the top, right side of your personal page, team page, and the homepage, there is a white box card with a blue ‘Invite a friend’ button. Click on that and follow the prompts. This is to invite someone as a participant.
HOW DO I INVITE SOMEONE TO DONATE TO MY FUNDRAISING PAGE?
Hover over you profile on the upper right corner, next to your name. Click on 'manage my page'. On the left side click on 'Raise at least $100'. A box will open. Across the top, select 'ask your friends' and follow the prompts.
WHEN CAN I FUNDRAISE OR HOST AN EVENT ON BEHALF OF THE PCD FOUNDATION?
Thank you for your interest in supporting the PCD Foundation! Fundraising takes place throughout the year, and we would love to partner to support your efforts at a time that is convenient for you.
We see a lot of activity in October during PCD Awareness Month - a dedicated time for PCD families, advocates and supporters of the PCD Foundation to come together to raise awareness and funds for primary ciliary dyskinesia. We are thrilled to partner with you during that special month, but the needs of the PCD community exist throughout the year and we are available anytime to discuss how we can help support your fundraising efforts on behalf of the PCD Foundation. This peer-to-peer fundraising software is also available for your use throughout the year to help you plan and communicate with friends and family and reach your fundraising goals!
