Coast to Coast Volunteers MAKE A DIFFERENCE

In memory of my Father, Kenneth Alexander Robb who's wish was that "No child should have to go through this."
Smiles, laughs tears and emotion, are all in a day’s work when you volunteer with Coast to Coast. But bringing smiles to the children is a very special moment.
An announcement for all of my friends and family....as of September 1, I will be retired! Yep..and you are probably thinking but she is so young...
When I announced my intention to retire, I had a couple of colleagues encouraging me to volunteer for the National Kids Ride for Cancer. After a 35 year career in Education focusing on building each student's tomorrow, every day, what better way to kick off retirement than to volunteer my time for such a worthy cause raising funds in an effort to improve the survival rate and quality of life of children and their families impacted by childhood cancer.
What many of you may not know is that my Dad passed away at the age of 67 after battling cancer. When Dad was going through his cancer treatments he would tell me stories about the young children in the cancer clinic. He said "Carolyn, I have lived a full life but these kids have not had the opportunity to live and experience life. No child should have to go through this."
So...I'm all in... I have been accepted as a Crew Member supporting hundreds of cyclists riding 100+km/day and by the end I will have contributed to the success and safety of their ride. You are probably wondering...what will she be doing for three weeks? What I can tell you is that I will be driving an RV/navigating; doing laundry; buying groceries; preparing food and the best part of all enjoying life as a retiree!
I hope you will consider a donation in support of the fight against cancer...I will plan to post pictures on my FB as we make our way across this beautiful Country.....I'm expecting lots of laughs...tears...highs and lows......but in the end...it will be so worth it! Thank you Angie and Susan for inviting me to join you on this epic journey!!
Dad....as always....my thoughts are with you each and every day....Love Carolyn
Please donate and help me reach my fundraising goal.
