About Give Me Shelter Color 5K
Carolina Youth Development Center proudly presents the annual Give Me Shelter Color 5K. Participants will run (or walk) approximately 3 miles through the town of Moncks Corner, SC where they will be showered with color along the way!
This event benefits all families served by CYDC in Berkeley County as well as the Callen Lacey Center for Children in Moncks Corner.
This is a family-friendly event. Friendly pets and strollers are welcome! Be aware, there will be color everywhere!

How Your Support Makes a Difference
Carolina Youth Development Center provides essential services to over 700 families annually, serving nearly 50 counties across South Carolina. Our goal is to help children and families in crisis, whether that would be with our community-based services, residential program, or through our family support center. Why support CYDC? 1 in 5 children in foster care will become homeless after the age of 18. Within two years of leaving foster care, 25% of those we serve will be touched by the justice system. At the age of 24, only half of kids who were in foster care will be employed. By stepping in, CYDC has the opportunity to serve youth and families through residential and community programs, deploying evidence-based case management practices so that the children we serve do not become another statistic.
