Misty Reynolds, was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky, is a Program Supervisor with Sunrise Children’s Services. Sunrise Children’s Services provides Christ-Centered services for children, young adults, and families throughout the state of Kentucky and has done so for over 150 years!  Misty supervises the Foster Care, Adoption, and Independent Living Programs offered here in the Lakes Region.  She has been employed with Sunrise Children’s Services for 18 years & feels honored and blessed to serve God through this ministry.

Misty is the proud mother of her 22-year-old son, Zach McIntosh. Zach attends college at WKU in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he will graduate with a Business Management Degree. He is her favorite person, and she is his rock!

Misty is dancing in honor of her beloved late husband, Tim Reynolds, who passed away on 3/26/2021 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Misty and Tim were married for 15 ½ years. Tim was a devoted, loyal, and loving husband, father, and son. Tim was also a dear and well-respected friend to many within his community, church, and work-family. Tim rarely met a stranger, and anyone who knew him loved him.

Unfortunately, Tim was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in October 2019 at the age of 51. Tim bravely battled AML for 1.5 years, receiving several treatments at Vanderbilt and MD Anderson and reaching remission for a short three months before the AML returned, forcing the option of clinical trial treatments for any hope of medical healing.

Tim boldly proclaimed and held on to his unwavering faith, and when his life ended, peacefully prepared by saying goodbye to all his loved ones and eagerly entering Heaven’s Gates! Tim’s life was such a blessing and great encouragement and example to many.

During the eighteen months of constant chemotherapy, clinical trials, and living in hospitals, hotels, and apartments in Nashville and Texas, we NEVER financially struggled due to the continuous and unbelievable financial blessings received by SO many people throughout our community!  Family, friends, church family, work-family, and people we barely or rarely saw from our community offered support! It was amazing, humbling, and powerful to feel the prayers, support, love, and financial blessings at such a scary and unpredictable time! Yet even though we were scared and felt uncertain, we KNEW God blessed us all along the way and always trusted God’s perfect plan!

We agreed and made a commitment while enduring this journey to “give back in some way to children or families affected by cancer or major life-threatening illness.”  We saw firsthand how so many families endured such financial struggles and worries while fighting for one’s life! So, when I was asked to participate in Book for Hope/Dancing for Gold, it was a God wink moment….and a hug from my beloved husband, Tim, from above.  I knew it was an opportunity to give back, pass it on, share the light of hope, love, and blessings from God that had been given to us in our greatest time of need.

It was on our “Bucket List” to take dance lessons together in our retirement years, so I know Tim will be Dancing for Gold along with me!
