Dancing for Gold 2022

Book for Hope, Inc. is a 501 (C) (3) childhood cancer organization with an all unpaid board of directors and officers. We financially help families in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois that have a child on cancer treatment. Upon receiving an application from a pediatric oncology social worker for a family that needs assistance, we give a Book for Hope, Inc. emergency envelope. The envelope contains a $150.00 preloaded visa card, a $50.00 fuel card, and a $50.00 restaurant card. The following month, the family can submit a bill for payment: house/rent payment, automobile insurance, vehicle payment, utility bills, and anything except medical bills. Book for Hope, Inc. will continue to monthly help the families as long as the child is on cancer treatment. Also, our organization gives 32% to childhood cancer research.

Children cannot be treated for cancer in Western Kentucky or Southern Illinois and must travel at least 2 1/2 hours or farther out of town. With the support of our donors, Book for Hope, Inc. will continue giving an emergency envelope and paying monthly bills for families with a child on cancer treatment. Children in our region go all over the USA for cancer treatment. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, a parent/parents will have to stop working to stay with them at the hospital or care for them at home, which puts a financial strain on the family. In addition, children only receive 4% of funding from the Federal Government for cancer research, and adults receive 96% of funding for cancer research. Also, your support will allow us to continue to give 32% to childhood cancer research…..because kids matter.
