Danette Mahabeer–Turner

Greetings! My name is Danette Mahabeer-Turner, and I’m honored to be representing Kentucky as the current Mrs. Kentucky Petite USA 2025. I’ve always believed that true leadership means using your platform to make a real difference, and when the opportunity arose to dance for children fighting cancer, I couldn’t say no.

One of my dear friends, Terri Buri, lost her precious grandson, 11-year-old Gage, to juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma (JPA) brain tumor cancer—a pain no family should have to endure. His story and the strength of families like his inspire me to dance with purpose.

Throughout my journey as a life coach, speaker, and podcast host, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people across Kentucky and beyond, shining a light on hope, healing, and resilience. From hosting society-driven conversations on my talk show to advocating for mental wellness and personal growth, every part of my life’s mission aligns with lifting others up, especially those in the fight of their lives.

When I learned about Book for Hope®’s mission and thought about my dear friend Terri Buri's grandson, 11-year-old Gage, who lost his brave battle with JPA, I knew I had to step onto the dance floor for this cause.

I am Dancing for Gold® to honor 11-year-old hero Gage Emanuel Buri, stand beside hurting families, and raise funds that bring light to their darkest days.

Thank you for supporting this beautiful cause and for believing in the power of community, compassion, and action.
