Dancing for Gold® 2025

Book for Hope's childhood cancer organization mission is to raise childhood cancer awareness, financially support families with a child actively in cancer treatment in Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Northern Tennessee, and donate to childhood cancer research. We would be grateful for your generosity in helping our 501 (C)(3) childhood cancer organization.

We are a local grassroots organization familiar with the families we support.

Childhood cancer rates are on the rise in the United States while rates of cancer  among adults is declining. Childhood cancer is the number one disease-related cause of death in children. There are only seven FDA- approved cancer treatments for children between the ages of past infancy through nineteen-years-old. There are other options, but these are adult cancer treatments and trials. Sadly, Kentucky has the highest pediatric hepatic cancer rates. Book for Hope is pleased to help in this endeavor by donating 32% of the funds we receive to childhood cancer research, the most vulnerable population

Each year Book for Hope raises money to help families with a child actively in cancer treatment. This not only benefits those families, but also raises awareness of childhood cancer in our region by involving our community members in these fundraising efforts.

Most of our children cannot receive local treatment for cancer. Travel becomes a way of life for families. Regardless of where a child receives cancer treatment, there are bills at home not covered by insurance that continue to come monthly. Our
financial assistance  takes the form of fuel cards, restaurant cards, and pre-loaded visa cards. In addition, Book for Hope pays one monthly bill for a childhood cancer family while their child is in treatment. This includes assistance with utility bills, vehicle payments, house/rent payments, vehicle insurance, vehicle repairs, and many other things.  Unemployment plagues many of the families we serve. After a parent has exhausted the twelve weeks of the Family Medical Family Leave Act (FMLA), most caregivers lose their jobs.

Our annual Dancing for Gold® event is our single biggest annual fundraiser. Your support is critical for families facing childhood cancer.  We cordially invite you to become a corporate sponsor for this gala event, donate, contribute silent auction items, and purchase a table for eight people. Children’s lives are at stake and these children are depending on the success of Dancing for Gold®. Please be a part of the solution to a family’s worst nightmare.
