Dancing for Gold® 2027 supporting Book for Hope®

I am dancing to support the children and their families in our community battling childhood cancer. Kentuckians are disproportionately affected by childhood cancer, and I want to help advocate for better education, prevention, and access to care. Together we can make a difference.
My name is David Black. I was born and raised in Paducah and now live here with my beautiful wife of 22 years, Lindsay McMaster Black. We are the proud parents of Dawson (19), Ford (17), and Nolan (15).
I am the President of Ray Black & Son, a 4th generation family-owned construction company, and a member of Grace Episcopal Church. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy every minute I’m able to spend in the woods or on the water. I am proud to be a Kentuckian, and even prouder to be a Paducahan!
Like many people in western Kentucky, cancer has impacted my life. My father died 10 years ago from Multiple Myeloma, my mother is a cancer survivor, and so am I. I became familiar with Book of Hope through Amanda Waxman, who works at Ray Black & Son and has been one of Dancing for Gold’s pros since it began. Through Amanda’s participation, we have seen the difference Book of Hope makes in the battle against childhood cancer and the support they provide to the most vulnerable patients and their families.
I am thankful to step out of my comfort zone and onto the dance floor to help support Book of Hope and the fight against childhood cancer!
