Dancing for Gold® 2027 supporting Book for Hope®

Book for Hope is an extension of my passion for hospitality, using the skills I've learned over time to help others feel a sense of dignity and care through both normal and difficult times.
My name is Nicolas Weeks. I grew up in La Center, Kentucky, and graduated from Ballard Memorial High School in 2007. My first experience with cancer was in elementary school, when I learned my mother had been fighting breast cancer. While I couldn't fully comprehend the impact then, witnessing how much cancer can shake a family shaped my perspective. Seeing that impact on adults, I recognize how much greater the toll can be on all aspects of life when a child is diagnosed.
Many in Paducah may know me from my work as a bartender, Sommelier, and Wine Director at The Foxbriar Cocktail Bar, or as a server at Freight House. Over the better part of a decade, hospitality, wine, and cocktails have become my passions. Throughout my career as a Sommelier, I have honed my craft and shared this passion with those around me.
I always seek to donate my time and skills to give back to my local community. My participation in Book for Hope and the Dancing for Gold® event is an extension of that hospitality, a way to provide dignity to families struggling through incredibly tough times. By donating, you are helping me and this incredible organization provide vital support to children and families affected by childhood cancer.
