Dancing for Gold® 2026 supporting Book for Hope®

Please help us provide a lifeline to families battling cancer in our community.
I’m Steven Woods, a Social Studies teacher at Heath Middle School. I am originally from North Carolina, but I have lived in Kentucky for almost twenty years now. I retired from the Army after 20 years of service and adventures that included regions throughout the world. Whether through education or my military service, I have always felt a calling to do something more by providing education or protection for our society.
I have been married to my amazing wife Angie for almost 18 years. Angie is a retired school administrator. She is now running The Studio by Woods and Company event center as well as being a ballroom dance instructor to which I have the honor of dancing with this year! Our daughter Allee is 8 and our son Connor is 13. We love to travel and go on outdoor adventures as a family.
Angie has been a part of fundraising for the fight against cancer for so many years while I have been the supportive cheerleader along the sidelines. This year I have taken on the challenge of being a fundraiser and participant in Dancing for Gold® in order to help raise funds for Book for Hope®.
Book for Hope® provides a lifeline to help equip families with the resources to endure and sustain throughout the fight so they can provide unhindered support and love for their warriors! This organization can help take away some of the fears and uncertainties that families face when they battle cancer.
I am honored to be a part of this fight and to have this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. I hope you will please take this as an opportunity to make a difference as well. Donate what you can, when you can, and remember that no amount is too small! Thank you in advance for your support, and if you have seen my dancing...I may need some prayers as well!
