Calgary Academy celebrates young women and raises money for crucial cause

Each October, Calgary Academy comes together as a school community to celebrate the empowerment of young women during the Dig Pink volleyball tournament, raising over $116,000 for the Alberta Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research. 

Over the course of the two day tournament, volleyball teams from across Alberta will battle it out to see who will claim the title of tournament champion, while wearing pink and showcasing their commitment to their sport and altruism. Hundreds of students will pack our gymnasium for a pep rally that highlights the importance of altruism, and will spend an entire week reflecting on how breast cancer has impacted their individual lives, and how we as a community can help make positive change.
