Every day, 6 Albertans are diagnosed with breast cancer of which 1 will receive an unknowingly ineffective treatment. The Alberta Cancer Foundation has invested in breast cancer research that will identify those patients and prevent unnecessary suffering from the side effects of an ineffective treatment. The other benefit is this allows the start of alternative treatments sooner, ultimately increasing survival for patients. Simply put, that means the right treatment, at the right time, for the right patient.
