Duke at Team IMPACT Game Day Gala 2025
11-year-old Harper resides in Durham, NC. In October 2021, Harper was diagnosed with pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Her treatment at Duke Children’s Hospital included chemotherapy, outpatient visits, countless procedures and unexpected admissions.
In August of 2022, Harper was matched with the Duke Softball Team. She was welcomed into team activities with open arms – from throwing celebratory first pitches, to hanging in the dugout, and even ACC championship celebrations. Duke Softball provided Harper with an extended support network as she reached each of her treatment milestones.
Harper is known for her bravery, her empathy, and her unwavering support of those around her - especially fellow childhood cancer patients. Heather and Harper partner together in advocacy and fundraising efforts for childhood cancer research. In 2024, Harper rang the bell at a Duke Basketball Game, seen here!
