Q: What is Phil’s Challenge?
A: Phil’s Challenge is our fall, school-wide fundraiser that unites families, students, and parishioners in support of Immaculata Catholic School. This year’s goal is $100,000 to strengthen operations with $1,000 going to Note in the Pocket!
Q: Where does my donation go?
A:Funds raised fuel the day-to-day operations at ICS—from student and teacher programming and essential expenses.
Q: How do I support my child’s homeroom?
Tap Support a Homeroom, pick your child’s class, and select their name (first name + last initial). Every gift fuels our $100,000 goal and boosts their class on the leaderboard. Multiple kids? Make smaller gifts to each homeroom.
Q: Can grandparents and friends donate?
A: Absolutely! Anyone can give online and select a homeroom. Please share the campaign link with family, friends, and supporters.
Q: What is the Fun Run/Walk?
A: On Friday, Oct. 3, students will walk or run laps to celebrate the campaign. Families are welcome to cheer from the sidelines. It’s a joyful way to end the fundraiser together. And as a fun treat, we will have doughnuts and apple cider to celebrate.
Q: What are the service projects?
A: In addition to raising funds for ICS, our students will serve the wider community. This year’s projects include a Clothing Drive for Note in the Pocket and a Campus Beautification Day. Throughout Phil's Challenge, we encourage students to bring in gently used clothing. Bins will be located in homerooms and we will be collecting clothes throughout the campaign for Note in The Pocket. Families are also welcome to shop on the Note in The Pocket wishlist.
Q: Are donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes. All donations to ICS are tax-deductible. A receipt will be emailed immediately after your online gift is made.
Q: What if my employer matches gifts?
A: Fantastic! Many employers double or even triple charitable contributions. After donating, check with your HR department or matching gift portal and reach out to Kathy Badillo at badillok@icdurham.org.
