Welcome to the 2024 DIY Walk page! We are so excited you'll be hosting a walk with your own community. This Do-It-Yourself approach allows the flexibility to host a walk wherever and whenever it works for you. Invite friends, family, neighbors, and your broader community to come together to raise awareness of epilepsy, raise funds for EFMN, and raise a sense of community with others impacted by epilepsy.
What is a DIY Walk?
A DIY walk is exactly what it sounds like – a walk you do yourself! While EFMN is hosting six regional walks across Minnesota this summer, we recognize these dates and locations don’t work for everyone. By creating a DIY walk page, you can engage your community and network in raising awareness and funds for EFMN while providing the flexibility to host a walk when it works for you!
How do I set up a DIY Walk?
Registering for a DIY walk is just as easy as registering for one of our regional walks. From the home page of this site, click “Register” and select “DIY Walk” under the options of locations. From there, you’ll fill out the registration form and set up your walk team page. Once you register and set up your page, you can share the link with your friends and family!
How do I share details about my DIY walk with my community?
Because your DIY walk is held at a location and date of your choosing, you will need a way to let your friends and family know when and where it is happening. We recommend adding this information on your walk team page. You can do so by following the steps below:
Hover over your name in the top right corner of the OneCause United in Epilepsy Walks homepage. Select “Manage my Page.”
Select “Set up your page” from the list of options on the left side of the page.
Use the “Add a personal message to your page” box to add your DIY walk information, including the date, location, and time.
Select “Save” at the bottom of the page. You can confirm your details show up correctly on your page by selecting “View my page” at the top of the list on the left side of the page.
Send your website URL to your friends and family!
