Every 9 Seconds 2021 Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence
YWCA Evanston North Shore

About Every 9 Seconds 2021

Every 9 seconds a woman in the U.S. is abused. You can help build a way out.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  For YWCA Evanston/North Shore, it is a month-long, all-out effort to raise awareness about domestic violence and raise funds to support survivors.

You can help in this effort.

An anonymous donor will match every gift in October dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact to support domestic violence survivors. Your gift will support YWCA's emergency housing, counseling, financial education, safety planning and legal advocacy.

Make a donation. Create a fundraising page. Ask your friends and family to support this effort.

YWCA is here for survivors. You can be too.

Over the last year, we built a new Family Support Center which includes a state-of-the-art shelter that is more than double the size of our old shelter. We are now able to serve many more survivors and their children in a trauma-informed environment built to help families heal.

Survivors come to us for emergency shelter, for safety planning, counseling and trauma support, for legal advocacy, and for education and training.

Your gift this month will go a long way towards helping provide those services for the survivors we serve every day of the year.

Survivors need you. We need you.

Here's how you can help.

Join us October 4 - October 31st for "Every 9 Seconds: YWCA Challenge to End Domestic Violence" to help raise awareness and funds to support our expanded domestic violence program.

YOUR GIFT TODAY WILL BE MATCHED by an anonymous donor, doubling your impact!

All new donors to YWCA will be matched 2-1, TRIPLING your impact for domestic violence survivors.

And, for every fundraising page created, YWCA will receive a $100 donation as well!

When you make a donation, you are helping to end domestic violence for women and children throughout the 16 communities we serve.
