BEING A TEAM CAPTAIN
Whether you are a bar, restaurant, or other business, if you are the first person to start a team - you are the designated Team Captain! Yay! Team Captains play a vital role in The Freedom 13 Pub Crawl campaign and are the team leaders that get their family, friends and co-workers organized. Your support shows the community that it starts with you to help honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you for the time and energy you are putting into this raising money and awareness for The Freedom 13.
Step 1: Register Yourself as the Team Captain.
Step 2: Get Your Team Members Registered.
Step 3: Start Fundraising!
COMMUNICATE WITH THE TEAM REGULARLY
Touch base via email, phone or text (even hold a team meeting)
Brainstorm fundraising ideas
Inspire the team with stories/facts
Keep the team informed of their progress - highlight a certain member’s fundraising efforts (they received a big donation or reached their goal)
Look to your family, friends and co-workers to be on your team
Seek people with different connections to widen the circle of possible donors
Challenge the team
Foster a competitive spirit
Thank members throughout the process
Consider ways you might recognize each team member for their contributions
Help the team share in the glory of any formal awards received the day of the walk
Remember to recognize your own contributions and keep in mind that each dollar raised is impacting our veterans and military service members
