Falcon Walk

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Falcon Walk?

Falcon Walk is an annual fundraising campaign to support our vision of a thriving community of educators and families collaborating to empower students to be their best selves while instilling a life-long love of learning.  All school families, PreK 3s through 8th grade, are encouraged to participate.

What is Falcon Week?

Falcon Week is a celebration of the spirit within Holy Spirit! It is the final week of the annual Falcon Walk fundraising campaign and student prizes will be awarded during this week – including the MVP Main Event Field Trip! Students will end the week by participating in Falcon Walk Day, hosted by PTO, and families are encouraged to attend FalconFest, hosted by Parish Athletics. For exact dates and details, please see the Sycamore calendar or the Falcon Week flyer sent home with your student.

Why are we raising money?

Your donation to Falcon Walk supports student activities, program enhancements, extracurricular activities, facility improvements, classroom supplies, teacher appreciation and other items that fall outside of our school budget. New this year, a portion of the funds raised during Falcon Walk will be allocated to Parish Athletics. It is our hope to create a collaborative community to support the students of Holy Spirit School and Parish Athletics during Falcon Week.

Who can participate in Falcon Week?

All Holy Spirit families, PreK 3s - 8th grade, are encouraged to participate in Falcon Week.

Will we get raffle tickets too?
No, Parish Athletics has decided to discontinue their FalconFest raffle. It is our hope to create a collaborative community to support the students of Holy Spirit School and Parish Athletics during Falcon Week.

How will the funds be divided between Holy Spirit School and Parish Athletics?
A predetermined amount was agreed upon between the Falcon Walk Committee and the Athletics Committee. It is our mutual goal to increase interest in all the events that support school spirit.

Can I use the same Falcon Walk page that I used last year?
No, Holy Spirit staff has worked with PTO over the last year to identify an improved fundraising platform that allows us to easily track and report Falcon Walk results and donor engagement. We chose to use OneCause Peer-to-Peer Fundraising because of the success that we have had with the OneCause platform used at Spirit Night and the scope of functionality that it provides. It is our expectation that this platform will continue to be used with ease for many years to come.

Do I need to register for a giving page?

No, all students have been assigned a giving page for their use, or the Falcon Walk Campaign page can be accessed via hspirit.org.  Donors can select your student's name from their homeroom.  To find your student's giving page link, look for an email sent on Tuesday, September 5th from the "Falcon Walk Committee".  If you have more than one student, you will receive an individual email for each student.

Can donations be divided equally among students?
No, unlike in past years', OneCause does not allow donations to be divided between students. While this is a slight inconvenience, it allows the Falcon Walk Committee and individual families to better track their student’s donations and prize eligibility on their student page. An individual student must be selected with each online donation and award credit will only be applied to the student selected.

My student's grandparent donated and mistakenly added it to all one student. Can you adjust to all my children?
Our new platform makes it very easy to select one student at a time and would appreciate any assistance from school families in helping relatives to navigate this process. Should an error occur, please contact Lauren Schoen at laurenkschoen@yahoo.com for assistance and we will do our best to adjust. Please note that adjustments may impact on the delivery of prizes.

What is Classroom Battle Week?

Classroom Battle Week is a challenge within the Falcon Walk campaign to encourage students to work as a team to raise funds for Holy Spirit.  Donations from midnight on September 11th through 9:00am on September 15th are counted toward this challenge and tracked during the week.  At the end of the week, all donations received prior to September 11th are added back in for the final tally.  The winning classroom for each grade will receive a visit from the Candy Wagon on September 15th.

Can I pay by cash or check? If so, how?
Donations made via cash or check should be sent to the school office LABELED with your student's FULL name and Homeroom. PTO will enter offline donations each Friday during the campaign.  Donations without a name and homeroom associated with them may impact on the delivery of prizes.

I can't find my email with my student's online giving link.  Please help!

All emails were sent out on September 6th at 2:30pm from "Falcon Walk Committee".  Details of the email can be found at this link: https://conta.cc/3OYb3by, but you will need the personalized email to find your student's link.  If you've checked your inbox and junk folder and still can't find it, please reach out to jgiannone@hspiritschool.org for assistance.

Can I use my company’s sponsorship toward my student’s fundraising goal?
No, Falcon Walk is a student-centered fundraising campaign and sponsorships do not count toward student’s eligibility for prizes.

Are sponsorships for Falcon Week still available?
Yes, please contact Deanna Keal, PTO President, at deanna.keal@gmail.com, or Jen Giannone, Director of Advancement, at jgiannone@hspiritschool.org.
