Groups of people from a team and raise money to help provide essential furniture and household goods to families in poverty who are experiencing severe life challenges. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, teams participate in the Bed Race at Land-Grant Brewing Company. The race runs approximately from 9am – 1pm.
Racing teams are comprised of 5 people – four Bed Racers and one Bed Rider, who compete in a head-to-head 50-yard race. Teams dress up in fun and creative costumes and participate in the Team Parade before the event.
Racing teams are provided with a shared bed for each race. Teams may purchase a reserved bed rental for the race for an additional fee. Reservations are limited, so log onto the website and add it to your registration today.
Awards are presented for the highest fundraising team, highest fundraising individual, best costume and best bed theme. All racers receive an exclusive custom designed racing t-shirt by Homage.
When registering, Team Captains will choose their Bed Racing Division – the options are Just for Fun and Competitive. Teams will be grouped according to their division selection. If you wish to change your division please email us by Friday, September 19, 2025.

Competitive teams are athletic, elite and in it to win it! You want to make the finals, and bring home the title in 2025, and actively engage in the fundraising aspects of the race.
Yes, a shared bed rental is provided with your registration fee. We also offer a reserved bed rental for an additional fee that is available only for your team’s use for the race on Saturday, September 27th. Reservations are limited so reserve early.
If you plan to bring your own bed, please email event@furniturebankcoh.org and a drop-off location will be shared with you.
Beds will be inspected for rule compliance at check-in. All non-compliance issues must be corrected for a bed to race. No modifications are permitted once checked in except for repairs.
Limited tools and minor repair materials will be available- if you feel the bed, you are bringing may need more extensive repairs during the race, please plan on bringing your own supplies. We will maintain any rented bed. We will gladly accept donations of beds immediately after the races.
Children 13 years of age or older can participate with a signed parent/guardian waiver. Younger children are welcome to cheer. We will also have entertainment and games for children at the event!
No, unfortunately you cannot register your other team members. Registering online provides a waiver to participate in the race. If we identify duplicate emails, we will require your team to register with paper registrations forms at the race.
A new individual team member can register until midnight on Friday, September 19, 2025. Substitutions can be handled by emailing us at event@furnitruebankcoh.org. After that date, additions or changes will be handled at check-in on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
You can change your team’s name by Friday, September 19, 2025, by emailing us and requesting a change. Please allow 2-3 business days for this change.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate this due to the racing brackets. At least one person from each team must be registered by midnight on September 19, 2025, so that we can create race schedules. Additional team members that miss the deadline can register in person at the event on Saturday, September 27, 2025 via a paper registration.
Check-in begins at 9:00am
A mandatory team captain meeting will be held at the starting line at 9:30 am.
The Team parade will begin at 9:45 am with races immediately following.
The event should conclude around 12:30pm
We encourage you to arrive early for several reasons:
Land-Grant Brewing Company does not have a parking lot. There is paid and free parking along the streets surrounding Land-Grant Brewing. There are also parking garages in the area to park. We suggest visiting the Land-Grant Brewing Company website for their parking map. https://landgrantbrewing.com/parking/
Please do not park in the Strongwater/400 W. Rich parking lot across the street from the brewery, or in the Idea Foundry’s parking lot behind the brewery. You may be towed.
We will have a bracket board located near the starting line. These are the official standings. You will also be given a bracket at check-in for tracking your team’s progress. Please note that changes happen as teams that might not make it race day.
We will also make announcements throughout the races so make sure you listen to any adjustments or changes. We do take breaks between races to provide racers and opportunities to rest before their next race.
Water will be provided for racers. Food and beverages will be provided for purchase. No alcoholic drinks will be allowed at the race site. Land-Grant Brewing Company will be open so you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage on their property and watch the races from their beer garden.
Teams winning their divisions will be awarded along with Best Decorated Bed, Best team themed costume, Top Individual Fundraiser and Top Fundraising Team.
All racers will receive an exclusive custom designed racer t-shirt from Homage. We will also have games and prizes during our race breaks. In addition, we will have a raffle tickets available for the raffle hosted only onsite.
