About Grand River Founders Walk

WE'RE GOING VIRTUAL!

Join us this year from your own neighbourhood as we walk and run to raise funds to support those affected by Huntington disease.

If you have cash/cheques, please mail them to the National Office (20 Erb St. W, Suite 801, Waterloo, ON N2L 1T2) with a note that the funds are to go towards the Grand River Founders Walk.  If your donors would like a tax receipt, be sure to include their full name, street address, email address and phone number.

The Founders Walk to Cure HD honours the Huntington Society of Canada's founders, Ralph and Ariel Walker, who started the society 45 years ago, in 1973, at their kitchen table in Cambridge.

Ariel Walker often shares a story about the dragonflies that explains their significance to the community.. It is due to the profound connection this has with HD community that you will see dragonflies incorporated throughout the walk.

The Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) strives for a better future for those affected by Huntington disease (HD).  There are three main areas that HSC focuses on:

1. Funding cutting edge research into slowing or stopping the progression of HD

3. Raising awareness of HD, educating the public and health services professionals, as well as advocating for the rights of those affected by HD
