Bundle up and come experience a fun filled wintry day riding fat tire bikes in the snow or cheering on riders while supporting a great cause. Join fellow riders and friends for the 6th Annual UHCCF Frosty Fat Tire Festival at Tanadoona on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Ride a groomed circuit around the scenic grounds of Tanadoona as many times as you can to raise money to fund UHCCF medical grants for children in need. Want to ride but don’t own your own fat tire bike? No worries, we will have a limited number of bikes on site so register early as availability is on a “first come first served” basis.
We are excited to announce the event is returning to Tanadoona, located on the shores of Lake Minnewashta in Excelsior, MN, for the 6th Annual Frosty Fat Tire Winter Festival. Tanadoona boasts fantastic outdoor amenities such as covered dining pavilions, an outdoor fireplace, newly developed/modern event and indoor banquet facilities, and grounds for an amazing bike course. Since Tanadoona encompasses 103 acres, this provides an ideal setting for plenty of room to social distance but yet still have a fantastic experience with friends and family.

Planning on coming with a group of friends? The option to bike share is available. While a friend is riding the bike, you can cheer them on, warm up at a warming station, or grab a drink. Please note: if you’re planning on coming solo and would still like to bike share, you will be paired up with other solo riders willing to share.
Please note there is a $50 non-refundable fee to register for this event. This registration fee will apply towards your minimum fundraising goal of $500 which must be raised by Thursday, February 3, 2022. Planning to bring your own cheering squad? Each additional guest is $50, they simply register on this site to secure their spot.
Practice rides leading up to Frosty Fat will be held each Saturday in January at 10 a.m. If you are interested in participating, please email Paruj Acharya at paruj_acharya@uhc.com. Locations will be determined closer to the ride date and all rides are weather and conditions dependent.
For your safety, the safety of our volunteers, and those we serve, UHCCF will follow CDC guidance as outlined here: cdc.gov/coronavirus. All attendees, aged 5 and over, are required to be fully vaccinated. At time of check-in, each attendee will be asked to attest to their vaccination status. If you have COVID-19 symptoms in the 10 days prior to the event, you must participate virtually. Please report any onset of symptoms or diagnosis of COVID-19 for two weeks following the event by emailing katie.monroe@uhc.com. Attendees should wear a mask while indoors at the event. Masks will be available upon request. Safety protocols may change if pandemic activity worsens.
UHCCF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance plan.
Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. UHCCF was founded in 1999. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded more than 28,100 grants valued in excess of $58.8M to children and their families across the United States. Funding is provided by contributions from individuals, corporations and UnitedHealth Group employees.

Thanks to a UHCCF medical grant, Minnesota native, Aidan was able to receive a specialized racing wheelchair that allowed him to pursue his love of racing. With it, Aidan has won a State Championship medal, numerous Junior National medals, and was part of the 2019 UHCCF Grandma’s Marathon Team!
