Cleveland Dance-A-Thon 2019

We are rolling out the red carpet for our STAR-dancers and their friends and families on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Here’s how you can participate:

1.    CREATE A TEAM. Create a movie-themed team for your favorite STAR-dancer.​ 

2.    GET SPONSORS. 

• Ask your family and friends to sponsor your STAR-dancer! 
• Each sponsorship makes a difference whether at the $5 or $500 level. 
• Sponsors can join your team by simply making a donation, by attending the event or by doing both! 
• Challenge: Bring your STAR’s fundraising to the next level by asking your STAR’s school to do a “Dimes for Down Syndrome Day” in honor of October as Down Syndrome Awareness Month. For those interested in doing this, please contact Lizz Maxwell, as she has many resources to share with the school or others. 

3.    WHY PARTICIPATE? 

• To have fun and celebrate GiGi’s Playhouse with our Down syndrome community!
• All proceeds and donations go directly to support the FREE purposeful programs provided by GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. 
• For the average family, adding additional educational and therapeutic programs to their child’s life is not necessary. However, individuals with Down syndrome often require numerous additional programs (both educational and therapeutic) in their daily routine just to keep up with their peers. These programs can be extremely costly, which is why GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to offering free purposeful programming for individuals of all ages with Down syndrome

4.    WHAT IS THE DANCE-A-THON? 

• The Lights. Camera. DANCE! dance-a-thon is a dance party open to everyone. 
• This event includes movie-themed dancing, appearances by some of your favorite local dance teams, a movie themed selfie station, and for the first time ever - a candy pull!
• You can dance when you want, sit when you want, eat when you want and leave when you want! 

The Dance-a-thon will take place at Rocky River United Methodist Church (19414 Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH 44116).

• Doors open at 2:30pm, with a dance party from 3 – 5:30pm.
• Register by October 9th for a free Lights. Camera. DANCE! t-shirt.
• Advance registration is $25 per adult, $10 per child and free for individuals with Down syndrome.
• Day of registration is $30 per adult and $15 per child.
