Step Into Her Story
On November 7th, I will participate in a Welcome Walk benefiting Global Village Project with over 300 people. Global Village Project (GVP) is the only middle school in the U.S. dedicated to serving recently arrived refugee girls. As a nonprofit middle school, GVP provides a tuition-free academic program that serves students from all over the world. The typical student has been in the U.S. for less than three years and has missed an average of three to six years of school.
The walk will be in Clarkston, Georgia, where the majority of GVP’s students live. The Walk represents the connecting of the Global Village Project's community, our Village, and the school’s commitment to create a safe and welcoming place for refugees to learn and be unstoppable. In the spirit of welcoming refugees and for educational equity among girls, I hope you will consider donating in support of me (or register to walk with me!) and the Global Village Project.
Walking in this event is not just about covering the miles; it's about stepping into her story and making a tangible difference in the lives of young girls.
