Hi everyone,
I’m participating in the 30th Annual Habitat 500 Bike Ride this year to support Habitat for Humanity, and celebrating my 20th year of riding in the Habitat 500. 

HFH is a non-profit organization that builds simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with those in need. Not only do they provide families with an affordable mortgage with a no-profit loan, but they also partner with families, communities & local organizations to help older adults improve their homes & quality of life where they live, participate in disaster response, and participate in neighborhood revitalization.

Since this is my 20th year, my goal is to raise $2020! I don't ride for free but pay a registration fee and am required to raise funds to ride. This is where I need your help!

My first ride was in 1994 when we rode to Jimmy Carter's Blitz Build in Eagle Butte, SD. That 1st ride was a game changer for me. Each ride has brought something new and different to my life, including many new friendships, and taught me many things. Those of us that have participated have endured cycling in All kinds of weather during the ride; it can be really hot, raining, super windy, and even cold. From my participation in the Habitat 500, I have gained a greater appreciation for having a safe, decent place to live, it has increased my resilience, perseverance, and stamina. I train as much as I am able. Another great opportunity on the rides is spending a day working side-by-side with the homeowners building on their HFH home.

This year's ride will begin July 14 in Fergus Falls and we will ride though North West MN. 

Please consider making a donation to my ride and this great organization who has helped so many families in need.
